Mukesh is my domestic maid Sunita`s son, who lives nearby and had met with a brutal accident ten months ago. He was badly injured when he met with an accident as a pillion rider on a bike. It was Diwali, and the entire family was waiting for his return with candles. Mukesh being youngest in the family was always leveraged to join late. This time he was too late...as his left leg was crushed and sliced in two.
Mukesh is a bright guy, who is immobilized today, can’t go to school and for play...the poor family has done enough and more sacrifices to get him medical aid...undergoing major debts Sunita`s family (members-5)now lives in a katcha home in a dairy in a vasant kunj chawl. The eldest son- Rajesh, a scholar in DPS Vasant Kunj delivers newspapers to 100 homes and cleans 5 vehicles every day before going to school so as to earn additional money. Sunita today serves 18 hours as a domestic help and her husband is 24/7 guard in DPS Vasant Kunj. Their daughter stays at home to take care of Mukesh. The family normally meets together over dinner around 9pm for half-an-hour and gets busy in earning again.
Mukesh has undergone three surgeries, but his leg remained unrepaired. The tyranny of the medical system while Sunita`s husband has a medical insurance thrashes them every day, but never helps them reach first in the queue.They now are going back to their village Jabalpur for the surgery.
The family is lately counseled to fix a sterile-implant in Mukesh`s leg, the expense is too huge for the family.
My friends, if you could come forward with some monetary help by 15 April please let me know... I have to raise about a lakh for this family.
